FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT
Galway Traveller Movement works to level the playing field and
advocate for equality and inclusion for members of the Traveller
Community. We wish to recruit a fulltime Financial Accountant to join
our team. The successful applicant will be part of the finance team
dealing with the Galway Traveller Movement Health Programme and its
social enterprises ? Bounce Back Recycling and Bounce Back
Upcycling. The Financial Accountant will report directly to the
Finance Manager and Coordinators.
CONTRACT: Full time permanent contract after successful completion of
six-month probationary period and the continued award of funding for
this position
WORK HOURS: Five days per week, **Apply on the website** hours per
week, with flexitime
ANNUAL LEAVE: **Apply on the website** days per annum
SALARY: Negotiable
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* A recognised professional accounting qualification
* A relevant third level degree qualification in accounting or
finance-related discipline
* Recently qualified accountant, perhaps wishing to make a change
from the practice environment will also be considered
* Previous experience in the non-profit section and or social
enterprise, including working with these sectors in a practice
environment, desirable though not essential
* Have proven experience of preparation of accounts
* Possess an excellent knowledge of financial accounting issues and
good accounting practices
* Have strong IT skills specifically Microsoft Office and
computerised accounting packages
* Have strong administrative skills
* Have the ability to prioritise tasks/objectives and work on own
initiative, not requiring close supervision
* Have strong motivation and organisational skills and ability to
multitask
* Have good attention to detail and accuracy of work
* Have a positive and enthusiastic attitude and work well as part of
a team
* Have flexibility in approach to work
* Have strong analytical skills, problem solving and communion
skills
* A full clean driving license with access to your own car
* An understanding of corporate responsibilities
* An understanding of the issues and policies impacting on the
Traveller community.
* Display respect of Traveller culture and way of life
